Kimya Dawson

"Kimya Dawson," The New Yorker, April 7, 2008

Here's a portrait of Kimya Dawson done for the New Yorker (plus some of the color variations I went through to get to the final). I was pretty excited to get this assignment because I like the Moldy Peaches. It's nice they're getting some recognition (albeit post-breakup, er, "hiatus").

Listen to Kimya's solo work here.

The Moldy Peaches - Anyone Else but You
(y'know- that song from 'Juno')

  1. That artwork is spectacular! I love the song "Anyone Else But You." Have you heard Amy Kuney's cover of the song on Youtube? She sings it as a duet with herself dressed up as the characters. It's pretty cool :]

  2. hey audrey, thanks for the youtube suggestion- it's a cute idea for a video.

  3. I saw that illustration last week! I was flipping through the magazine on my way to the Goddard article but I definitely paused when I saw that illo. Great work!
