"Warpaint," The New Yorker, April 4, 2011

L.A. band Warpaint are playing the Brooklyn Bowl this Wednesday and the Bowery Ballroom the next day. Here's the illustration I did of them for the New Yorker. Below is my color inspiration (Overlap No.3 (Crimson and Blue) by Ernst Benkert) as well as the original drawing of the band's bassist.

Check out their video for "Beetles":

The Fashion Cycle

"Bill Cunningham," The New Yorker, March 21, 2011

Here's the portrait of fashion photographer Bill Cunningham I did for this week's New Yorker. The black and white drawings are the sketches— for the final illo, I decided to zoom in a bit on the approved sketch.

Here's the trailer for "Bill Cunningham New York" (to be released March 16):

Gotta love the Velvets.

Thanks, Jordan!
