Mad Men

I did this piece two weeks ago for the New Yorker. The art department loved the illo, but the higher-ups decided to go with a photo treatment for the article at the last moment. These things happen in publishing. On the bright side, I was paid for my work and I'm happy with how the illustration turned out!

Walton Goggins as Boyd Crowder

Boyd and Justified hero Raylan Givens have a complicated relationship as criminal/cop frenemies. As much as I liked this drawing as a likeness of actor Walton Goggins, I couldn't find a way to incorporate it into the illustration.
