Soul of Shaolin, edition of 100 archival ultrachrome prints on Hahnemuhle Bamboo paper

Legendary producer Bob Nederlander ordered 100 prints of my Soul of Shaolin illustration! He was also generous enough to invite me to the opening- the first Chinese production ever done on Broadway.

Young Mr. Lincoln

"Young Mr. Lincoln," The New Yorker, January 19, 2009

Here's my illustration of Henry Fonda in John Ford's classic 1939 film, "Young Mr. Lincoln." I have yet to see the movie- it's been in my Netflix queue for almost as long as I've had a Netflix account. I'm sure it will make it's way to the top some day...

Above are some attempts at drawing Fonda in character (fake nose and all) and below is the clip of the movie I watched before getting started.

Frost/Nixon

"Frank Langella in 'Frost/Nixon'," The New Yorker, October 16, 2006

I did this one for The New Yorker a few years ago when the play "Frost/Nixon" was being performed in London. It was a particularly fun challenge to balance the likeness between Frank Langella and Richard Nixon. Later this month, Ron Howard's film adaptation will open so this was a good time to dig this piece out.
